The latest WhatsApp app for Windows and MacOS coming soon

  • As you already know, WhatsApp, the most popular chat platform with over two billion users worldwide, can already be used on PCs as a mobile app and as a Web version.
  • However, you already know that you can not be so satisfied with the user interface and features of the web version here. Due to this, the need for a complete WhatsApp PC App that supports desktop has been a concern for many people for a long time.
  • Although a beta version of WhatsApp has already been released for Windows, GSMArena reports that the latest Italian PC App that will soon be optimized specifically for Windows and MacOS, based on some screenshots and GIFs published by the popular Italian website Aggiornamenti Lumia One is said to be unveiled.
  • This will be the theme of Windows 11 with a transparent color panel, which will be notified even when leaving the app.
  • It may take a few seconds to log in to the existing WhatsApp web version, but this new PC app will open and activate in less than a second.
  • It is also reported that this app will also include a drawing feature to support the touch display.
  • The Aggiornamenti Lumia website points out that this PC App is divided into 6 categories: General, Account, Chats, Notifications, Storage, Help, and you can expect to see a traditional light green chat background on WhatsApp.

Adobe provides web versions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software.

  • Adobe is reportedly working on two world-renowned software versions, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. These web versions allow the above mentioned software to be used through the web browser without having to be installed on the computer.
  • You may recall that TechNew.LK previously informed you about Microsoft's Windows 365 service for cloud PCs. The web version of these two Adobe software is somewhat similar to the Windows 365 service mentioned above.
  • But this only gives us the facility to do a basic edit. Although this cannot be used for complex photo editing tasks, the convenience here is that we have the ability to do photo editing for general work from anywhere.

  • This web version will be able to work with normal PSD Files and AI Files. Adobe has said it will add a new Feedback Panel to the Photoshop desktop app to review comments.
  • Users will be able to access the beta version of this web version, which will require a membership in Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe also said it was working on a number of new features for Photoshop.

 Meta Smart Watch

  • There have been various reports on social media that Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is preparing to launch a smartwatch.
  • This image which was released on the internet a few days ago gives an overview of the display, casing and front camera of the Meta Smart Watch.
  • The first thing you see when you look at it is its rectangular design, rounded corners and curved edges. We also see a Control Button on the right.
  • Also, the camera is located at the bottom as a small notch. This is an important point for video calling and taking selfies as well as health features.
  • However, it's a bit hard to expect it to be powered by an OS made by Meta itself, otherwise it could be powered by an operating system like Google Wear OS.
  • So we can expect this Meta Smartwatch in the year 2022 and Tech News will bring you the latest information about this as soon as we receive it.

The latest brain ball to be introduced for the game of cricket

Smart Ball

  • You are well aware that cricket is one of the most widely used technology at the moment. So with the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup coming up these days, we thought we'd give our Sri Lankan cricket fans, who are in the heat of it, a few informative articles on the latest technologies we use for this game of cricket. As a first step, we first bring you information about Hawk-eye technology. In this article, we hope to bring you the latest addition to the game of cricket, the Smart ball.

What is this Smart Ball?

  • A smart ball is a ball made by inserting an electronic chip into a leather ball used for cricket. The whip was used to make Kukabura balls, and the Smart Ball was manufactured by the Australian company Sportcor. The companies are headed by Michael Cassex, a former bowler on the Australian cricket team.
  • Developed by Sportcor, the whip's microphone is located in the center of the ball and travels through the sensors from the point where it slips from the bowler's hand to the final stop (wicketkeeper's eye, keeper's hand, or four. Or until the limit of six) is provided. These data provide a large amount of data such as the speed of the ball, the number of times the ball spins, the speed at which the ball is dropped by the bowler, the speed at which the ball hits the bat and the speed at which the ball travels after hitting the bat.

  • It also measures the speed of the ball as it is dropped by the bowler, as well as the speed at which the ball lands on the field and the speed at which the ball is directed to the batsman after hitting the field. The data provided by this ball can be viewed through a software designed specifically for this purpose, which supports mobile phones and computers. It also has the ability to measure the force exerted by the ball.

How to make a Smart Ball?

  • The Smart Ball is made in the same way as a normal Kukabura leather ball. The only difference is that the ball incorporates an electronic circuitry that carries a chip. This circuit is set up in the middle of the ball and is mounted below the protective layer of the quilt on the ball. Then, as usual, a layer of rubber is formed on top of it. The rest are parts of a normal leather ball.

Challenges Facing the Smart Ball

  • Currently, the Smart Ball at the experimental level has to face several challenges. This fact is the biggest challenge for this ball. And the next best challenge is that the battery life of the electronic circuit used in this ball is limited to 8 hours. For this reason, problems have arisen when using this ball for all-day matches.
  • Despite facing these challenges and finding solutions to them successfully, the inevitable challenge I will face next to the ball makers is the longevity of the ball. If the electronic circuit inside the ball is damaged during continuous batting, it loses its ability to be used throughout the innings.
  • The other main point is that the cost of developing the circuit for this ball is high. Due to the high cost, the cost of a Smart Ball is high.

  • The ball, now known as the Smart Ball, was used in the Caribbean Premier League in the West Indies, the first time in the history of cricket that a Smart Ball was used. The Smart Ball is currently being considered for use in the Big Bash tournament in Australia. However, the ball has not been approved for use in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup 2021. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has not yet approved the use of the Smart Ball in any other international cricket tournament.

The Managing Director of TRCSL explains the Night Time Data provided by the telephone companies

  • Oshadha Senanayake, Managing Director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) said at a press conference today that his company has not approved the allocation of data packages for night time and day time.

  • He points out that the telephone companies did just that, and that Night time data is actually free data that comes with an Anytime data package, and that the companies have not yet charged for it.
  • He said that due to this false propaganda by the telephone companies, a large number of complaints regarding Night Data are being received from the consumers.
  • However, this will not be of any special benefit to the customer and will only change the advertisements on the relevant packages.
  • For example: A package that offers 750MB Day / 750MB Night data size is currently marketed as 1.5GB, but in the future it will have to be changed to 750MB.
  • Accordingly, when you buy a 750MB (Anytime Data) package for Rs. 100, you have to mention in the advertisements that you will get another 750MB (Night Time Data) for free.
  • However, it should be noted that the telephone companies have not yet commented on this matter.
